In other new– school is starting.
This is typically a tough week of practice as everyone gets back into the swing of things. But we will not be able to rest much because we do have another home meet this Thursday.
We tried something different in the schedule last year and it worked out pretty well, so we will try it again this year. On weeks when there was NO meet on a Saturday, we did not practice Friday. We let everyone recover from the Thursday meet and practiced Saturday AM–race-speed work. That will happen this first week.
HOWEVER, ALL Swimmers MUST cool down after the meet on the Thursday Night. No sneaking out early. No hiding in the bathroom. EVERYONE must cool down properly after the meet. No exceptions. And this week the Packers play at 7PM
Here is the Week 4 Schedule:
Monday – Divers are in the AM. Swimmers will go from 6 to 8 PM. Swimmers working on some short sprinting work along with increasing tempo as the race goes on.
Tuesday – First Day of Split practice. Early Group goes from 3:45 to 5:30. Divers from 4:00 to 5:30. Late Group has Core Strength from 4:15 to 5:15PM. Late Group Swims from 5:30 to 7:30PM. Swimmers are going to be challenged with some descending intervals.
Wednesday – Early Group goes from 3:45 to 5:30. Divers from 4:00 to 5:30. Late Group Swims from 5:30 to 7:30PM. Swimmers will be doing stroke work.
Thursday – Dual Meet with DSHA. Please arrive at 4PM. Please plan on starting to Warm Up at 4:30. Everyone stays for the Swim Down after the Meet. It is good for you 🙂
Friday – Divers from 4:00 to 5:30PM
Saturday – Look at that. We are all back together again. Swim Practice from 8 to 10:30AM. It will be fast and timed and from the blocks
