We did a great job paying attention to details tonight. Improvements on kicking off walls was something we talked about all week and and talked about again in the pre meet meeting. And then we did a good job of doing it while we raced.
It was three of our practices with the most meterage these past three days with a great deal of high intensity on little rest. To recover tonight and swim as strong as we did from the start of the meet all the way to the end is showing the strength of this team. We are sick, injured, a little run down, and are still bringing it to the meet.
You should sleep well tonight knowing you did an outstanding job!!
This is the quote that was read to the seniors. From astronaut Chris Hadfield:
Ultimately, leadership is not about glorious crowning acts. It’s about keeping your team focused on a goal and motivated to do their best to achieve it, especially when the stakes are high and the consequences really matter. It is about laying the groundwork for others’ success, and then standing back and letting them shine.
