24-Hour Relay Information
What is it?
The 24-Hour Relay started in 2011 in the challenge to fundraise enough money to purchase a new scoreboard. This event continues to be a fundraiser for the team to improve the pool, provide for the team, and continue to stay competitive. During this event the girls have teams of 3 for a 1-hour shift, one or all girls must stay in the water for their shift. It starts with a Saturday morning practice and ends with a quick Sunday Morning practice.
What do we do during 24-Hours?
During the 24 hours we have special guests come in to talk about specific swim concepts, drills and focused swimming. We also have fun events such as aqua Zumba, yard games, a family cookout, friendship bracelets, and yoga. There is also a friendly competition based around a community food drive. This event has become one of our major team bonding events as we normally have it during the first few weekends of the season. We encourage all girls to participate in the event as well as ask for donations.
What do we need donated?
The following two pages are example forms for either a money donation, or an event donation. We are always looking for new and exciting things to take place during the event and if you or someone you know has a skill to let us participate in we highly encourage it! The event also takes a lot of food organization. The swim team feeds the girls, lunch, dinner, and breakfast as well as a few midnight snacks, so food donations/catering is always encouraged.
How do we donate money?
Money donations are always accepted and highly appreciated, if you own a company and donate through the company or fundraise money from a company we would love to recognize that company by being printed in our home heat-sheets, as well as being recognized as a sponsor at the beginning of all our home meets during girls, and boys’ season.
